Luka Doncic is proving that he might just be the best young player in the NBA and one who will dominate the league at the same level as the best player in league history. He has plenty of moments that showcase his superhuman ability but his latest performance has blown everyone away.

Luka Doncic became the first person in NBA history to put up a stat line which 60 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists, as the Mavericks pulled off a stunning OT win over the New York Knicks. With 33 seconds left in the game, the Knicks were up 9 and expected to win the game before Doncic and the Mavs managed to tie the game up with some good plays, and the Knicks collapsed at the free throw line.

This was the first time in the last 20 years that a team has won from this situation, with the previous 13,884 instances ending up as losses for the trailing team.

The Knicks also had a win probability of 99.4% after Miles McBride put the team up by 9 points with just about 30 seconds left.

This performance is one for the history books and has generated praise from NBA stars, past and present. Luka has also re-established himself in the MVP conversation after falling behind the likes of Nikola Jokic and Jayson Tatum.

The Dallas Mavericks Need To Help Luka Doncic

The Mavericks needed every last point, rebound, and assist that Doncic contributed to winning this game. That is quite shocking considering the Knicks were without Jalen Brunson and lost RJ Barrett to injury early in the game. Despite that, they almost lost the game, a story the Mavs are all too familiar with this season.

Hopefully, the Mavs can acquire some good talent to surround Luka with. They’ve been linked with various players this season with the top end featuring guys like Trae Young and Zach LaVine. However, they’re also looking at deals that will actively hurt the franchise, like trading for John Collins
