Luka Doncic hailed Novak Djokovic as the GOAT of tennis after the latter clinched the 2023 French Open.

With the win, Djokovic became the first man in the history of the sport to win 23 Grand Slam titles surpassing Rafael Nadal and also became the first player to win at least three titles in four major tennis tournaments. This had the Dallas Mavericks superstar lavishing rich praise on Djokovic on his Instagram story.

Doncic joined the likes of Rudy Gobert, Nikola Vucevic, and Bogdan Bogdanovich who hailed the Serbian as one of the greatest tennis players to have taken the court.

And on that note, Djokovic will also find new fans in the form of the Los Angeles Lakers faithful after he credited Kobe Bryant and his Mamba mentality as one of the factors behind his win.

Luka Doncic Looks Leaner In His Latest Pictures

Like Zion Williamson, the Mavericks guard was one of the players who garnered immense flak for his weight throughout the season, and after it was reported that Doncic had already begun his offseason training, the latest images of the Slovenian see him leaning out.

Doncic is coming off a disappointing season with Dallas, despite having an offensive threat in Kyrie Irving — the first blockbuster trade ahead of the deadline. The team failed to make the postseason, and now he’s already seen putting in the work ahead of the upcoming season amid rumors of Irving not playing for the Mavericks.

This season, he posted 32.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.0 assists in 66 games — numbers that most believed would be even phenomenal had he kept himself in shape.

For now, it appears that Doncic is making the most of his offseason, and also taking the time to keep himself updated with sporting events across the world. It remains to be seen if he can create history in the upcoming edition by winning a championship of his own.
