Luka Doncic put on yet another special performance last night as he led the Dallas Mavericks to a win in Game 6 of the Mavs’ series against the Phoenix Suns. Luka brought this team back to 3-3 and forced a Game 7 against the Suns.

Luka seemed highly motivated against the Suns and was bringing it against them on the offensive end. In fact, Luka actually became the third-fastest (tied) player to reach 700 points in the NBA playoffs, only behind Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain.

And it appears some of the trash talks may have played a part in that. Luka Doncic spoke after the game about the trash talk he has been subjected to by Phoenix Suns players, especially Devin Booker.

Doncic seemed to take the comments in his stride, noting that he likes it when people talk trash to him, and it gets him motivated to prove them wrong. Doncic has a seemingly jovial approach to the trash talk he has been receiving from Suns players.

“I like it when people trash-talk to me. It gets me going. It’s fun.”

Doncic and Devin Booker have been going back and forth at each other throughout the entire series. Recently, Devin Booker mocked Luka Doncic after absorbing contact and falling down, calling it the ‘Luka special’.

And in the same game, Doncic and Booker exchanged words, both players hurling obscenities in each other’s direction. There is significant animosity between Booker and Doncic.

Doncic was asked about Booker mocking him after absorbing contact, to which Doncic sternly responded by saying he did not care about it. Booker and Doncic seem highly competitive with each other and are not shy about letting the other know what they think of them. For fans, the animosity between the two superstars makes for a lot of excitement, and heading into a Game 7, both players will be looking to give it their all and get the win for their respective teams.
