Magic Johnson Says LeBron James Is The Current Frontrunner To Win The MVP

2 Min Read

The 2021 MVP race is as tight as ever. Between Joel Embiid, Kevin Durant, and Kawhi Leonard, there is no shortage of names in contention for the award this season.

But, according to Lakers legend Magic Johnson, LeBron James is currently leading the pack, as his latest effort on Monday night showed.

“LeBron James proved once again why he’s the leading candidate for MVP after his performance in the Lakers victory last night without AD posting a triple double…28 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists.”

At age 36, LeBron is currently averaging 25.6 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists per game on 49.7% shooting. Amid a slow start for Anthony Davis, and a Western Conference that has vastly improved, he has the Lakers sitting 2nd with a 19-6 record.

Best of all, James has found a way to become a master at every aspect of the game: from shooting to rebounding to playmaking and defending.

The question is: how much longer can he go? With the clock ticking, one has to wonder what the future holds in store for the team, especially now as they walk with a target on their back.

We’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves…
