Mason Plumlee and the LA Clippers have agreed to a one-year. $5 million contract, the news of which was reported by NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

Taking to Twitter, Free agent C Mason Plumlee has agreed on a one-year, $5 million deal to return to the LA Clippers, agent Mark Bartelstein of @Prioritysports tells ESPN. Plumlee landed with Clippers at the deadline and decides to stay with LA despite bigger financial offers elsewhere,” Wojnarowski wrote.

Plumlee averaged 10.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists with both teams collectively. Prior to his stint with LA, the 33-year-old has been a journeyman in the league playing for the Brooklyn Nets, Portland Trail Blazers, Denver Nuggets, and the Detroit Pistons.

The Clippers will benefit from his skill of being a strong finisher at the rim and a backup center. The decade-old veteran has a career average of 8.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.

Per ESPN, “One major area of growth this past season was Plumlee’s free throw shooting once he switched to using his left hand. After shooting below 40% on free throws in 2021-22, Plumlee shot 63.6% last season and 77.2% in his 23 games with the Clippers.”

On a side note, the Clippers are looked at as one of the teams coveting James Harden in free agency. They are making some moves by waiving Eric Gordon to save money on their tax bill, leading to him signing with the Phoenix Suns. They followed it up by trading for KJ Martin from the Houston Rockets.

Safe to say, it will be an interesting summer in LA.
