The Boston Celtics looked far and away the best team in the league at the start of the season but they then proceeded to hit a rough patch in December that had many questioning the team. The Celtics then answered their critics in some style, as they are currently on a league-best 9-game winning run.
Jayson Tatum wasn’t available for their latest win over the Toronto Raptors, but he has been immense during this stretch. He is averaging 33.0 PPG, 10.5 RPG, and 5.6 APG over his last 8 games and Matt Barnes had some high praise for the Celtics superstar recently.

He was a Kobe Bryant understudy and Kobe would have been extremely proud of the player Tatum has now become. He is definitely in the MVP race, although you would have to say that Nikola Jokic is leading it at the moment.
Jayson Tatum Spoke On The Race For The Frontcourt Spots In The All-Star Game
We have another race to keep an eye on, and that is to see who gets to start in the All-Star game, especially in the frontcourt spots from the Eastern Conference. There are 4 candidates who are more than deserving of making it in, but there are only 3 spots on offer.
The 4 are, of course, Tatum, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Joel Embiid. Stephen A. Smith recently made his pick for the starters by leaving Durant out, and Tatum was asked about the race as well. He didn’t make a pick, though but admitted that it’s tough that someone would be left out.
