Matt Barnes Warns Ja Morant On His Style Of Attacking The Basket: “The Ground Is Undefeated.”

Matt Barnes had a brutal warning for Ja Morant who endured a scary fall in Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Former NBA star Matt Barnes warned Ja Morant for his aggressive style of attacking the basket.

Taking to Twitter, Barnes had a crisp statement: “The ground is undefeated.” And this comment comes on the back of the Memphis Grizzlies’ guard hitting the floor hard after he barreled his way to the basket during Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

If Ja continues to attack the basket that way his career won’t be very long. That ground is undefeated.

In the end, Ja avoided a rather scary fall when he tried to dunk over LeBron James. Quite simply, his frame landed on James, and miraculously, neither player was injured. You can watch the clip below:

Had he been injured, the Grizzlies would have gone to dire straits instantly, considering he had already suffered an injury in Game 1 and missed the second clash in the process.

Barnes isn’t wrong in cautioning the guard, who, at 23, has a lot of potential to become the league’s next big superstar. But he would be wise to watch his style of play that could cost him a promising career in the NBA.

Ja Morant Garnered Lavish Praise From LeBron James Earlier In The Series

LeBron James and Dillon Brooks may be the story of the first round of the playoffs between the two teams, but the former had nothing but praise for Ja.

Speaking about his Game 3 performance, where Ja’s 45 points threatened to take the game away from the Lakers, “That boy is good,” James said.

“I mean, he’s good. He’s so good at attacking the rim that you wanna try to keep bodies in front of him, keep trying to make live on the perimeter. Tonight, he made six threes. So I mean, once a guy gets going from the outside, he can do whatever he wants offensively… When great players get it going, there’s nothing you can do. You can run off 20, you can run off 30, you can’t stop him.”

It remains to be seen if Ja can help Memphis equalize the series, which they trail 3-1. The next skirmish between these two teams is slated for Wednesday.
