Max Kellerman: ‘Devin Booker Is Like A Mini Kobe And The Suns With CP3 Could Be A Problem’

2 Min Read

After their remarkable bubble run, the Phoenix Suns knew it was time to take a step forward in the league and finally become a playoffs team. The Suns were one of the first teams to make a big move when they traded for Chris Paul of the Oklahoma City Thunder. CP3 had a terrific 2019/20 season in OKC and if he can bring something similar to Phoenix, they will have very good chances to compete in the NBA this next campaign.

CP3 and Devin Booker are now one of the most dangerous backcourts in the league and a lot of people have high expectations for the Suns entering this season. One of those is ESPN’s Max Kellerman, who compared Booker with none other than Kobe Bryant, tipping the Suns to be “a problem” in the Western Conference.

“He looks like a little smaller, not quite as good as Kobe Bryant. He could score from anywhere,” Kellerman said on ‘The Max Kellerman’ show (2:19 mark).

“They have got legit 3&D guys at forwards. Devin Booker is like a mini Kobe Bryant, and Chris Paul is a great player who is still playing at All-Star plus levels. The unknown in the starting 5 is DeAndre Ayton, and the guy is already an above-average NBA player. If Chris Paul gets the best out of DeAndre Ayton, the Suns are a problem.”

The Suns have a very interesting group with Booker, Deandre Ayton, Cam Johnson and more. They have a team that can make some noise in the league and can improve what they did last season; they were a Memphis Grizzlies or Portland Trail Blazers loss to play in the play-in games in the bubble.

Now they are fresh and ready to start again. The Suns have an interesting team for the season and more than one team should be worried about them.
