Metta World Peace Says Michael Jordan Would Average 50 Points In LeBron James’ Era

2 Min Read

Metta World Peace had the chance to play against three of the best players in NBA history, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James. The small forward had a very interesting career full of controversy and joy. He never left people indifferent with his antics on and off the court.

In the middle of that career, he faced three of the best scorers of all time. For Metta, however, there’s no comparison between Jordan and the rest. In fact, he claims that His Airness would be a complete nightmare for rivals nowadays.

Talking with former NFL star-turned-analyst Shannon Sharpe, the former Indiana Pacers, Los Angeles Lakers star stated that MJ would dominate in LeBron James’ era, averaging 50 points.

“I was at the Jordan era,” World Peace explained, via Peter Dewey of Lakers Nation. “I was in the LeBron [James], Kobe [Bryant], [Tim] Duncan, and I was at the tail end. I’ve played with these guys. I’ve seen all the 3-point balls go up.

“Jordan would average 50.”

He doubled down on his comments after Sharpe questioned him, saying that MJ could do it at will, which nobody in the league can do right now.

“If he wanted to,” the small forward added. “James Harden wants to average 50. He just can’t. He’s got 38. If Jordan wants to average 50, if he was playing in this era, I think he averages 50. And this is no disrespect to any of the guys that’s killing.”

These comparisons are always hateful. The GOAT debate always pits Jordan and James against each other, and it’s hard to find somebody who hasn’t discussed this topic at some point.

For somebody who played against the two players, Jordan has the clear advantage over LeBron. And, if they played in the same era, His Airness would be killing it on the King’s watch.
