Michael Jordan Has Donated Over $100 Million To Communities For Hurricane Relief, Medical Clinics, And Racial Equality

2 Min Read

We all know of Michael Jordan’s heroics on the court — he is a 6x Champion, 14x All-Star, 11x All-NBA player, 5x MVP, and first-ballot Hall-of-Famer.

But did you know that MJ has been making an impact off the court as well? Having earned hundreds of millions of dollars, Jordan has used his fame, wealth, and name to back several relief efforts, charities, and clinics all over the country. It totals over $110 million, but that’s just the starting number.

He recently got a shoutout on Twitter by fans who wanted to recognize him for his role in helping the community.

He’s also donated $30+ million to activists, donated millions of dollars that were generated by “The Last Dance” documentary, and donated his entire 2001 Wizards salary to victims of the 9/11 tragedy.

Though that’s not even half of his net worth, Jordan has been very generous in his efforts to help the community and those affected by heartbreaking tragedies.

Of course, his biggest donation yet came just last week when he pledged $100 million over ten years to “organizations that are dedicated to fighting for racial equality.”

Kudos to Mike for not only speaking for what’s right but actively sacrificing his own money to promote change.
