NBA Explains Why They Didn’t Ban LeBron James For Violating League’ Protocols

2 Min Read

The NBA decided not to punish LeBron James for attending a party with Drake and Michael B. Jordan last week. However, one spokesperson stated that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar had violated the league’s health and safety protocol. The situation was addressed with the team, according to this person.

However, the league’s front office decided not to suspend LeBron, which raised many eyebrows around the NBA world. Even Charles Barkley blasted the league, saying they didn’t dare to do something against LBJ.

After all the bad comments this decision sparked, they shared a statement explaining their decision. They didn’t punish James because the party attendees were required to show they were fully vaccinated or tested negative for COVID-19.

“To clarify any remaining misconception, LeBron James briefly attended an outdoor event last week where participants were required to be vaccinated or return a negative test result. Under these circumstances and in consultation with medical experts, it was determined that his attendance did not create risks related to the spread of COVID-19 and therefore no quarantine was necessary. Over the course of this season, there have been numerous similar violations of the league’s Health and Safety Protocols, which were addressed with the player’s team in a similar fashion.

Under current NBA rules, vaccinated players are permitted to engage in outside activities including their individual commercial arrangements, such as sponsor appearances or ad shoots.”

NBA fans didn’t like this and they went after the league and the star, saying the situation would have been different if this was another player not named LeBron James.

The King is trying to lead his Los Angeles Lakers to the promised land for the second consecutive season in a season that has presented plenty of challenges for them. Unfortunately, the way the league is handling this situation didn’t sit well with anybody, and fans were anything but happy with this development.
