  • The Miami Heat have had some incredible players suit up for them over the years
  • A Heat fan page shared a strong starting five featuring LeBron James and Dwyane Wade and seemed to think no one could beat them
  • NBA fans put together their own starting fives to beat this Heat squad

The Miami Heat are one of the relatively newer franchises in the NBA, having only been formed in 1989. In their 35 seasons, though, the team has won three NBA championships and made it to the NBA Finals on seven occasions in total.

They have had some great players to thank for that, with the likes of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Jimmy Butler playing a big part in all their success. A Heat fan page recently shared a starting five with that trio along with Chris Bosh and Bam Adebayo and wondered if anyone could beat them.

NBA fans quickly got to work and put forth some very strong lineups.

One went an all-time Spurs lineup that had Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard.

A fan went with the Warriors’ Big 4 from 2016 to 2019 and added Wilt Chamberlain.

A Lakers starting five with Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, James Worthy, Anthony Davis, and Shaquille O’Neal would beat them, as per one fan.

One believes the Nuggets from this past season would beat this team.

A fan went with the 2011 Mavericks, who had, of course, beaten LeBron, Wade, and Bosh in the Finals.

This Heat starting five is quite impressive. They’ve got multiple scoring options, a great playmaker in LeBron, and all five of them are pretty good on the defensive end too. Wade and Bosh have both made it to the Hall of Fame, while LeBron and Butler will make it in once they retire. Adebayo still has work to do to get into that mix but has had plenty of time on his hands.

There is one major flaw with this starting five, however, and that is shooting. None of these five are great three-point shooters, so the spacing would be an issue. One could also argue that you can make this team better by adding Alonzo Mourning or Shaquille O’Neal for Adebayo.

Who Can Beat This All-Time Heat Starting Five?

When you think of who can potentially get the better of this Heat lineup, there are a few that come to mind. The Los Angeles Lakers can certainly put together a lineup that beats this Heat team.

If we just go by positions and exclude LeBron because he’s on the Heat, you could go with Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, James Worthy, Anthony Davis, and Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq can also be replaced by Wilt Chamberlain or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and they’d still be quite formidable.

There are three players on there who are widely regarded as top 10 all-time, while the Heat only have one in LeBron. The Boston Celtics, meanwhile, can have a lineup with Bob Cousy, Paul Pierce, Larry Bird, Kevin Garnett, and Bill Russell. They too, would be fancied to beat the Heat.
