The Los Angeles Clippers traded for Paul George in the summer of 2019, notably sending out a large number of players and picks to acquire the stars. One of those picks notably became Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who already looks like a future superstar in this league.

Underneath a recent Reddit post, fans debated whether the Los Angeles Clippers acquiring Paul George is the worst trade of all time. Most fans agreed that it wasn’t, noting that the Clippers got Kawhi Leonard as a result of the trade as well.

Is the PG/SGA trade the worst trade of all time?

A fan said, “All time? They literally had to create a rule for Ted Stepien.”

Others pointed out that Kawhi Leonard came with the trade: “People gotta realize the trade was essentially an unofficial sign and trade for Paul George AND Kawhi.”

Another fan mentioned that “It didn’t work out but it was a good trade at the time. Still far from the worst ever.”

One person simply said that it is “Not even the worst trade in the last three years.”

Other fans pointed out some trades may have been worse: “Harden was worse,” and “There was a worse trade literally this year alone involving Gobert.”

There were some people that outright dismissed the notion: “Not even this decade.”

Though the Oklahoma City Thunder are clearly doing better from a value standpoint, it is clear that this trade could still end up being a good move for the Los Angeles Clippers if they win a championship.

Paul George is still playing at a high level right now, averaging 23.5 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 5.2 APG while shooting 46.1% from the field and 38.8% from the 3PT range this season. He was selected to the All-Star team this season, and he has a solid chance of helping the Clippers win a championship this year.

The Clippers Could Be Dangerous This Season

Any team with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George has a chance of winning a championship, and that may well happen this year. The team got Russell Westbrook after Paul George convinced them to do so, and he could be an X-factor next to two established stars. It is clear that the Los Angeles Clippers are one of the most dangerous teams in the league, and it’ll be interesting to see if they can get to the Finals this year.

Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Clippers make a deep run in the playoffs this year. They definitely have the talent to do so. Though a lot of people believe that the Phoenix Suns are the favorites in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Clippers aren’t far behind. We’ll have to wait to see who comes out on top.
