  • Kyrie Irving has played for four NBA teams during his career so far
  • NBA fans questioned which of his stints was the best version of Kyrie Irving as player
  • Fans made a case for different versions, although a lot picked his time with the Cavaliers

Kyrie Irving is just 31 years old, but it feels like he has been part of the NBA forever. The No. 1 overall pick in 2011, Irving has played 12 seasons of high-level basketball already. He has won a championship, been an All-Star eight times, and joined the 50-40-90 club during one season.

His career has also been marred by controversy, he left the Cavaliers under a cloud, he reneged on his promise to stay with the Celtics and he publicly had issues with the Nets‘ ownership. So a recent discussion fans had about the ‘best version’ of Kyrie Irving turned out to be quite interesting.

He won a championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the time he spent alongside LeBron James was also mostly free of controversy. So it’s no surprise that one fan gave the most simple answer.

His time with the Brooklyn Nets was the most controversial of Kyrie Irving’s career; he was suspended for spreading anti-Semitic content. But one fan still says that was the best version of Irving, and it’s hard to argue that. He averaged 27.1 points per game between 2020 and 2022.

While many picked Kyrie’s time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, one thing that most fans ignored was his time with the Boston Celtics. And one fan went as far as to call it ‘the worst.’

Including his time with the Dallas Mavericks seems a bit strange since he’s not even played a full season yet, but one fan picked it anyway.

And while most made passionate arguments to support their picks, one fan dropped the order of Kyrie Irving’s excellence on each team without explanation.

Kyrie Irving Is Looking To Have A Big Season In 2023-24

A recurring theme in Kyrie Irving’s career has been people questioning his ability to win without LeBron James. So far, he hasn’t been able to prove them wrong despite having teammates like Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant, and James Harden. But his latest comments make it seem like he has some big things planned for the future.

“Pin this tweet and see what happens in the next few years,” he wrote after a post about his lack of success following his departure from Cleveland.

Kyrie Irving is an enigma, but the one thing no one can take away from him is his incredible basketball ability. The mercurial point guard has a lot to prove, though, and maybe Dallas Mavericks Kyrie will end up being greater than anything that has come before.
