NBA Fans React As 2K21 Creators Apologize For Unskippable In-Game Ads

2 Min Read

Just when fans believed the people behind NBA 2K couldn’t do anything else to upset gamers, they decided to add unskippable adverts in NBA 2K21, something that obviously didn’t please anybody. Last weekend NBA 2K21 players noticed that unskippable ads for the Oculus Quest 2 were appearing during pre-game, which didn’t happen when they first bought the new installment of the video game.

One week later, NBA 2K21’s Twitter account addressed the situation, apologized to fans and explaining that these ads were not meant to run as part of the pre-game introduction.

“As many are aware, in recent years ads have been integrated into 2KTV segments,” The statement reads. “Yesterday’s 2KTV ad placement impacted our players’ experience in a way we didn’t intend, as these ads are not meant to run as part of the pre-game introduction. This will be fixed in future episodes. Thanks for your continued feedback.”

This explanation didn’t prevent fans from letting them know what they think about this specific move and the entire game.

2K fans have been unhappy about the recent editions of the game. They’re always asking for more and the developers and executives don’t seem to listen to them. They are making more moves to upset their clients instead of creating a better experience for them.
