There was disappointment over a playoff rematch between the Knicks and Heat not being scheduled.

Fans joked about LeBron ‘spanking’ the Celtics on Christmas.

This is an overall great lineup. The Knicks are always given a Christmas game, so they were bound to be included. A matchup against the Bucks is fun for everyone, as the Knicks are genuinely competitive, and we get to watch Giannis Antetokounmpo in action.

The Warriors and Nuggets will be an interesting clash of the last two NBA champions, while the 76ers and Heat will put on a show with another chapter in the minor rivalry between the Eastern franchises.

Two Games Serve As The Highlight

In terms of rivalries, there are two legitimate rivalry matchups on offer. The first is the greatest rivalry in NBA history between the Celtics and the Lakers.

Their matchup is going to be highly anticipated due to both teams being title contenders next season and is coming off the backs of a highly controversial matchup in the 22-23 regular season, where a missed foul on LeBron James prompted NBA referees to issue an apology. LeBron also openly hates Boston, so he’ll definitely have all the motivation he needs for this matchup.

The second matchup is the bitter rivalry between the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns that was birthed in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. The Mavs humiliated the Suns in the playoffs and had some heated regular-season encounters last season.

This included two of the best games of last season. The first was their opening-day clash when the Suns erased a 16-point Mavericks lead to win the game on a Damion Lee buzzer-beater.

The second came after Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving joined the franchises. In a game that went down to the final possession, Luka Doncic missed a game-winning layup, and Devin Booker started trash-talking. The pair had to be separated, but it added another chapter to the rivalry they started in 2022. Their Christmas clash will be sensational.
