The Atlanta Hawks are looking to make a major run in the NBA next season after a disappointing 2021-22 season. Despite making an Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 2021, the Hawks barely made the 2022 Playoffs and were easily eliminated in the first round by the Miami Heat.

To remedy this situation, the Hawks have added Dejounte Murray to their roster to make a dynamic backcourt with Trae Young. We have to wait till October to see them in action, but the players pulled up to Jamal Crawford’s pro-am game to give fans a little teaser.

Dejounte and Trae, along with John Collins were at Crawford’s basketball camp and put on a show. Murray had one of the most disrespectful moments of the game when he bounced the ball on a defender’s head before blowing past him and scoring at the rim with ease.

Fans have been reacting to this move by Dejounte, with many saying that they wouldn’t stand for that kind of disrespectful play in a game.

The trio of Trae, Collins, and Dejounte connected on some incredible plays during the game, showing that their chemistry is already looking great. While these plays may take place at a basketball camp, it’ll be incredibly challenging for these 3 to pull off incredible alley-oop plays during an NBA game. Trae Young posted one of their best highlights on his Twitter.

The Hawks have to be pumped up for next season with the way their 3 stars played in this pro-am game. Whether they work together in the NBA with this level of success is going to be seen later, but this is a very encouraging start.

In the game, Murray had a statline of 39 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists, Young had a statline of 37 points and 13 assists, and John Collins had a statline of 27 points and 17 rebounds. This was an extremely impressive performance and if they play like this in the season, the Hawks could be incredibly dangerous.
