LeBron James is now officially a billionaire, but as they say, old habits die hard. The King has somewhat of a reputation of not being a big spender when it comes to certain aspects of life, with Kevin Love once revealing a story about LeBron being cheap as he waits for WiFi in Toronto instead of using mobile data.

James recently made an appearance at the Summer League, where fans noticed him eating out from a ziplock bag of his own instead of buying something from the arena, and they had some interesting reactions to it.

“This is how billionaires stay billionaires lol”

“I think it’s more about discipline w/ eating. Most arenas don’t have healthy options. He brought a healthy option. That’s fire to me.”

“Lebron character in the movie Trainwreck is really him. “

“Ion think bro will be eating nachos and burgers when training camp is around the corner. Nevertheless impressive because if i would have seen someone walk past me with cheese fries it would have been over lol”

“Humility is key to success.”

“Probably has caviar dust on it….just kidding….it’s great to see that the simple things in life never leave us even with money.”

“Well when you invest a million a year into your body last thing you want to buy in summer league is popcorn or meat pie. Or large supersized thick shake.”

“Even he knows the food be over priced at the games 3 pc chicken tenders & fries be $20”

“It might be some healthy snacks that the arena don’t sell. That is one of the reason he had been able to play at high level for so long. I’m not a LeBron fan but I do respect his game.”

“Good habits are followed all the way to the top”

“Self discipline is the reason why he is the GOAT”

“Setting an example of financial responsibility and healthy eating for young children is awesome.”

“Even he can not find a brand that does not put tons of chemicals and preservatives in all their products…so he had to bring it himself. respect”

“That is how people with money have money, the little things don’t change”

“Way to go King! You know what comes out of your home”

“It it’s impossible to hate a man like Lebron , idc how you feel about him as a player (even tho ya shouldn’t hate him) he is an amazing human being”

“This is kinda dope no lie ..”

“Love how money doesn’t change than man. New love and respect for TheBron.”

“All you need to know about Vegas prices”

“You can take the man out the trenches but not the trenches out the man I guess”

As some pointed out, it probably had a bit to do with the fact that you don’t get any healthy food at these arenas, and while we said LeBron doesn’t spend a lot in certain aspects, he does spend millions on his body. It is one of the main reasons why he remains so effective despite 19 seasons of wear and tear on that body of his.

LeBron would also have taken some positives from the performances put on by the Lakers in the Summer League, with Scotty Pippen Jr., in particular, putting on some impressive displays. The Lakers need all the help they can get as they look for a bounce-back campaign in 2022-23.
