LeBron James has been on a tear in his last 13 games, stunning the NBA world. That he’s doing it at 38 and beating father time every day makes his dominance all the more special.
The Los Angeles Lakers were off to a terrible start this season, and James, in the absence of Anthony Davis has spearheaded the unit admirably. The proof is in the pudding, with the team winning five games in a row — the latest coming against the Sacramento Kings.
Points-wise, the veteran has two 40+ games, two 25+, and eight 30+ games in his last 13 clashes. His last five games see him average 35.8 points, 9 rebounds, and 7.6 assists.

On his part, James has been happy with the way the Lakers have played in their last five games and attributed much of it to the basics.
“I guess it’s just trying to play basketball the right away, especially offensively. You know, moving the ball, sharing the ball. Equal opportunity for everyone and then defensively, just flying around helping each other.”
“We’ve done a great job of defensive rebounding when we get stops. We do a good job of getting stops, but at times, especially early in the season, we didn’t have a lot of second-chance points and things of that nature, but tonight we had 44 defensive rebounds. That’s pretty amazing. So, we was very locked in on the keys at hand and only gave up 4 second-chance points.”
That said, there’s no denying that the forward has been vital in lifting the team and getting them closer to that coveted .500 mark.
NBA Fans React To LeBron James’ Scintillating Run
While James had mixed reactions to his comments after the team’s loss to the Miami Heat in December, the Lakers have been an improved side soon after.
Fans believed that the King still had it in him to take his team to the finish line, especially after the team missed the playoffs last year and bowed out in the first round the year before.

Considering the way James is playing right now, the Lakers will certainly fancy their chances of notching up a few more wins and will hope that they can extend their purple patch when Davis returns. Next up, they face the Denver Nuggets, followed by a skirmish against the Dallas Mavericks.
