NBA Fans Roast LaVar Ball After He Says ‘I Told You So’ About LaMelo’s Draft

2 Min Read

Even after LaMelo was drafted as the 3rd overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft, LaVar Ball didn’t stop being LaVar Ball and NBA fans didn’t stop calling him out. As a matter of fact, the Ball family’s patriarch took his game to the next level when he tweeted something about his son, trying to make people think he had predicted that Melo was going to be drafted in the exact position he was called last night.

LaVar congratulated his youngest son on Twitter, ‘reminding’ people that he told them Melo was going to be drafted as No. 3 overall… Kinda. NBA Twitter wasn’t having any of that and decided to call Ball out because he had projected his son to be the first overall pick of this year’s draft. Anthony Edwards of Georgia was the one who received that honor, James Wiseman of Memphis was selected No. 2 by the Golden State Warriors before the Hornets pulled the trigger on Melo, one of the most interesting players of his class.

Fans didn’t take this kindly and they reminded LaVar he was selling something that never happened, something he’s done a lot in the past couple of years.

People went from criticizing his pics, to say he predicted Melo was going to be the first pick of this draft and others reminded him that he tipped his three sons, Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo to be part of the league.

LaVar isn’t a fan favorite and seeing how things stand right now, he’ll never be one. Whenever they have the chance, NBA fans take a lot of shots at him and his kids. LaMelo appears to be the one getting more love/less hate but his father has the potential to change that in a second.
