The Brooklyn Nets were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs in a humiliating fashion, getting swept by the Boston Celtics. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving never really got going, as the Celtics played incredible defense against them and kept them contained in each of the 4 games they played against each other. And in the aftermath of the loss, it appears Kevin Durant has picked up an old habit once again.

One NBA fan going by the name of kevinfan7 tweeted right after the game that Kevin Durant could not have done anything in Game 4 against the Celtics, as it was effectively a 1-on-5 game at that point. Many fans looked at the post and the profile it was coming from and suggested that it was Kevin Durant using a new burner account to defend himself against criticism, something he has been caught doing in the past.

A lot of fans tried to attach proof that the account was indeed one of Durant’s burner accounts, including pointing out that the account holder claims to be 33, the same age Durant is right now. And others just laughed, as Durant’s burner habits became the stuff of legend in the league.

There is no substantial proof that Durant is the one controlling this account. But given KD’s history with social media and burner accounts, and the name and nature of this profile, it wouldn’t be the most surprising thing to see Durant be the person controlling the account.

KD and the Nets will now focus on building their team for the next season. This will be a crucial offseason for Brooklyn, as they look to build a championship-caliber team around their two superstars, and look to incorporate Ben Simmons as their new defensive marshall on the court from next year.
