The Denver Nuggets lifting the 2023 NBA Championship means that a lot of long-time NBA veterans on their roster finally got their due as champions. Ish Smith and Jeff Green can finally call themselves champions, but the ring has to be even more special for DeAndre Jordan.

Jordan was part of a big three with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin on the LA Clippers, a team that underwhelmed and never made it past the second round. Now, Jordan is the first of that trio to win a title, causing people to mock Paul especially for not having won a ring still.

Fans found it hilarious that Jordan won a championship before Paul.

More fans celebrated DJ’s accomplishment by mocking CP3.

Fans had hilarious videos to share, including one where they say Jordan will let CP3 try on his championship ring next season.

More fans joked about CP3 kissing the ring.

Many fans were still in shock that DJ won a title before Paul could.

Some Chris Paul haters tried to find ways to blame Jordan’s previous failures on CP, citing P.J. Tucker as another player who left Paul and won a title in a poor example.

DeAndre Jordan did ride the bench for this title run, only playing three minutes in the Finals during Game 5. He did manage to get one block in those three minutes, making an impact on the box score. Otherwise, DJ was a locker room veteran and not relied upon for heavy minutes during this playoff run.

Chris Paul has evidently started declining but still plays a major role on his squad. He averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists this season but might end up getting waived by the Phoenix Suns.

Will Chris Paul Eventually Lift The NBA Championship?

Chris Paul will either be on the Phoenix Suns next season or a different contender if he gets waived. It’s highly unlikely he goes to a team like the San Antonio Spurs and tries to bring them back to relevance with Victor Wembanyama, with teams with direct championship goals like the Lakers or the Clippers being more attractive to a player of his caliber.

Even if Paul wins a title at this point, he won’t be one of the driving forces behind it. His best case might be to be the third or fourth best player on a team that ends up winning the title, with the 2021 Finals the last chance he had to win a title as a bonafide star in this league. Time is ticking for Paul, who will enter his 19th season in the league next year.
