Former NBA star and ESPN analyst Tim Legler revealed his 10 greatest players of all time. Legler is considered one of the most respected analysts on ESPN. His playing career may not have garnered a lot of glory, as he was a role player, but he has shined in his career as an analyst. Working with ESPN for over 20 years, Legler has earned the respect of the basketball audience.

So his word here is quite important. He has put together a very strong list, and many of the greatest players of all time are mentioned in his list. Some might question why players like Tim Duncan might not be on the list, but he did note that this wasn’t entirely based on accolades.

Unsurprisingly, Michael Jordan and LeBron James were in the top two, along with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. These two players are always considered the two best players of all time, and there have been heavy debates about which player is considered the best of all time.

While some consider Michael Jordan to be the greatest ever because of his 6 NBA championships and being undefeated in the NBA Finals, some might lean toward LeBron James due to his incredible longevity and his ability to win championships with multiple franchises.

GOAT Debate Intensifies Between Michael Jordan And LeBron James

The GOAT debate has been in existence for almost a decade now, primarily focused on Michael Jordan and LeBron James. The two mercurial superstars have been pitted against each other for years in the conversation about who is the greatest player of all time, with both sides making very strong arguments for their preferred choice.

The debate kicked off properly in 2016 after LeBron James helped the Cleveland Cavaliers win the 2016 NBA Finals by overcoming a 3-1 deficit, something that had never been done in the history of the NBA. This accomplishment, and the massive role James had in it, led many to begin comparing James to Michael Jordan.

While the comparisons were always there, since the start of James’ career, they have intensified as James has continued to win or play a large role in the NBA Finals over the last few years.

On top of that, James’ longevity, being able to play at the highest level possible, even late into his 30s, has really bolstered his case. While fans of both players will probably never come to an agreement on the matter, there is no denying that both players have earned their place in the conversations for the greatest of all time.
