The Phoenix Suns are one of the best teams in the league, and they notably made the Finals during the 2020-21 season. They are viewed as one of the contending teams this season, due to the presence of players such as Devin Booker, Chris Paul, Deandre Ayton, and Mikal Bridges on the roster.

Recently, we saw the Phoenix Suns drop two games in a row to the New Orleans Pelicans. The matchup was significant due to the two teams having a rivalry, which started in last year’s playoffs. Also, during the first game between the two teams, Zion Williamson finished the game with a 360 windmill dunk, which some players criticized as unsportsmanlike.

“The game was pretty much over, and they just kept playing,” Payne said, via ESPN. “I felt like there was just no sportsmanship, and we don’t really like that. We do the right thing. I felt like they should’ve done the right thing, and they didn’t. We didn’t take it well, and we don’t like to lose either. The game was over, no shot clock. They can hold the ball.”

There is no question that the dunk may have been over the top, but the atmosphere in the arena suggested that this was a reasonable thing to do given that the crowd was already hyped up. Deandre Ayton notably didn’t have a problem with it, noting that Zion Williamson did the dunk for the fans. Hopefully, both teams can move past this incident without any further animosity in the future.

Kendrick Perkins Roasted The Suns For Not Being Able To Stop Zion Williamson

After the Phoenix Suns lost their second game to the New Orleans Pelicans, Kendrick Perkins criticized the team for not being able to get a win against Zion Williamson following his 360 windmill dunk.

The Suns did all that extra shit the other night behind Zion 360 Windmill and today they had an opportunity to actually do something about it… but instead Zion served them with a 35 piece special “Cajun Rub” with the win!!! I can’t make this up. Carry on…

If the Phoenix Suns truly wanted to make a point about the dunk, then they should have made it a point to win their latest game. Obviously, not having Devin Booker hurt them though, and they ended up losing in overtime.

The Phoenix Suns have lost four of their last five games, and hopefully, they are able to turn things around in the future. They are still a talented team, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them finish as a top-3 seed in the Western Conference this year.
