Kyrie Irving On The Pressure Of Playing With LeBron James And Kevin Durant: “Within Our Culture They Are True Icons. But I Had To Fill In Those Shoes That Were Very Uncomfortable For Me.”

The always enigmatic Kyrie Irving is often looking to use his platform to talk about the things most important to him. While that has led to issues for the star in the past, be it with him calling the earth flat or sharing his opinions against vaccinations, Kyrie continues to fearlessly say whatever he feels.

Many people hate that about Kyrie, wanting the player to just focus on playing basketball. However, he continues looking for the right opportunities to say what he wants to, even if others don’t agree with him. Instead of communicating through established media houses, Irving uses his own platform on social media to share his thoughts.

Irving will be doing an organized interview after a long time as he will appear on ‘Uninterrupted’ with Idris Elba, Drew Barrymore, Paul Rabil, Paul Riviera, and Maverick Carter. The executive producer for the show will be LeBron James and Maverick Carter, as this is a platform they created to let artists speak directly to their audiences rather than having to go through the traditional media. At the same, Kyrie spoke about the pressure of playing alongside cultural icons like LeBron and Kevin Durant.

“Playing with Bron and playing with KD, within our culture they are true icons. But I had to fill in those shoes that were very uncomfortable for me.”

Irving has been one of the best secondary stars the league has ever seen. While he failed to lead a team to a championship as the first option in Boston, he did so successfully alongside LeBron in Cleveland. He will hope to do the same with Kevin Durant this season in Brooklyn.

Kyrie feeling uncomfortable in his role generates intrigue among everyone to see what the question he is answering is. Is he uncomfortable with being a second option, or is he uncomfortable with having to step into situations where his performance may dictate the course of LeBron or KD’s legacy? This is going to be a great look into Kyrie’s mind and is going to be something every fan would be interested in watching.
