The Golden State Warriors are one day away from playing Game 3 of the entertaining 2022 NBA Finals. The Dubs bounced back after the Boston Celtics shocked them in Game 1, demolishing the Greens at Chase Center. Now things are tied up, and we’re ready for another big game, this time at TD Garden.
Meanwhile, everybody keeps talking about both teams and praising them. The Warriors’ level has improved a lot since 2019, and now are ready to add another championship in their incredible 8-year run (six with a positive record and a trip to the Finals).
Many people around the league have had something to say about the renewed Warriors, who never played more than six games in a series, and are trying to dismantle the dangerous Celtics. Their biggest rival in the past, LeBron James, has even admitted he’d like to play for the Dubs in the postseason.
During the recent teaser of the fourth episode of the fifth season of The Shop, Maverick Carter asked LeBron which team of the remaining squads in the playoffs he would like to play with. After many battles with the Dubs, one would have imagined he didn’t want anything to do with them, but LeBron gave a surprising response.
“It’d gotta be Golden State,” James said in the short video. “I would love to get into a pissing match with Draymond [Green]. I love when somebody cuss me out.”
LeBron is always ready for a challenge, and he knows that to thrive with the Dubs, he would have to deal with so many things, including being held accountable by his teammates, especially Draymond Green. These two share mutual respect when they’re not competing against each other, but once they hit the court, things get very intense.
The King on the Warriors would have been even more incredible than with Kevin Durant at Oracle Arena. Well, it doesn’t seem like we’ll ever see this happening, but these hypothetical scenarios always make us dream about the incredible teams we will never see in the league.
