The Los Angeles Lakers have been a subpar team for the majority of the season, but that is through no fault of LeBron James. This has been one of his best seasons from a production standpoint, despite him being the age of 37.
Recently, LeBron James dropped 50 points against the Washington Wizards, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a win with a final score of 122-109. There’s no doubt that this was an insane accomplishment, and many fans were ready to react to his explosive scoring night.

LeBron James has previously stated that it upsets him when he’s “never” mentioned among the greatest scores of all-time. It is true that LeBron James’ best attribute is his playmaking ability, but it is clear that he can score and take over games in that fashion when he wants to or it suits the situation.
“The crazy thing is I’m not like a natural scorer,” James said. “I love getting my guys involved, I’ve always been that way. The point of seeing my teammate succeed off my pass. I’ve always been that type of guy. And to sit on top of the food chain in the most points scored in the history of the game is like it’s weird to me. When they talk about the best scorers of all time, they never mention my name. It pisses me off. They don’t ever bring my name to it.”
It is clear that dropping 50 points must feel amazing for LeBron James, but winning was probably equally as important. The Los Angeles Lakers are a play-in tier team currently, and they could use all the wins they can get. If they can surpass the Los Angeles Clippers as the 8th seed, it would benefit them in the play-in tournament.
Hopefully, we see LeBron James stay dominant for a while longer. The game will definitely miss him when he’s gone, and it’s clear that his legacy on the floor is set in stone.
