Nets superstar Kevin Durant got slapped with a $25,000 fine on Friday.

After footage of a verbal exchange with someone in the stands was posted on Twitter, the NBA punished him for “directing obscene language towards a fan.”

A $25,000 fine isn’t going to change Durant’s life. His net worth is roughly $170 million. In fact, he has had multiple “aggressive” encounters with the fans over the years.

Over the past month alone, he battled one fan on Twitter over a playoff game, clapped back at Ben Simmon critics, and even called out the New York City Mayor for the city’s COVID-19 mandates (which he was later forced to clarify).

“I don’t get it. It just feels like, at this point now, somebody’s trying to make a statement or a point to flex their authority. Everybody out here looking for attention and that’s what I feel like the mayor wants right now. Some attention. But he’ll figure it out soon. He better.”

So, it’s clear that Durant has no issues going to war with loudmouths. Whether it’s on Twitter or during a game, there have been plenty of occasions where he has flamed people.

This season, though, the number of doubters,s haters, and naysayers, are more than usual. After entering the season as the favorites to win it all, Brooklyn fell into disarray this season as they fought through injuries and internal strife.

Eventually, James Harden was given the boot for Ben Simmons, who has yet to make his debut this season.

In short, it has been a rough season for KD, and it is no wonder why his patience has worn thin.

But if he really wants to stick it to all his haters, he’s going to have to win where it matters and lead the Nets to the Finals for the first time in years. We will see if he’s IP for the task.
