When it comes to three-point shooting, Russell Westbrook is acing Golden State Warriors sharpshooter, Klay Thompson so far in the season.

At the time of writing, the Los Angeles Lakers guard has a better downtown shooting percentage (34.0%) compared to Thompson (33.0%).

Earlier, it was noted that Westbrook had a better three-point percentage than his star teammates, LeBron James (23.9%) and Anthony Davis (25%). Per ESPN, Lonnie Walker IV has had a good outing with Los Angeles and is one of the better shooters for the side from beyond the arc with 35.7%.

Here’s a quick look at the difference in numbers between Westbrook and Thompson:

3-Point Stats:

Russell Westbrook: 34.0%, 18-53 3PM-3PA

Klay Thompson: 33.0%, 38-115 3PM-3PA

For the Warriors, Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins have had a healthy percentage knocking down 44.7% and 40.7% respectively.

Klay is averaging 15.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.54 assists per game in the current season. His 33% shooting from three-point range further shows the forgettable slump he’s in. Meanwhile, Westbrook has had a better run averaging 16.3 points, 5.5 boards, and 7.2 assists.

Steve Kerr Believes Klay Thompson Will Find His Rhythm In The Games To Come

Despite his poor form, Klay Thompson had Steve Kerr’s faith as well. Soon after the Warriors’ loss to the Phoenix Suns, the head coach spoke of the players staying more accountable, while also shedding light on Thompson’s form.

Kerr felt the 32-year-old should take it easy on himself and not look at draining every shot he takes. The ongoing season has seen him attempt more shots than the total points he’s scored when he’s on the floor.

Kerr on Klay: “In some ways right now Klay just has to get out of his own way and free himself up and just play, enjoy the game instead of wrapping himself up in every single shot.” Kerr added Klay’s in a good place physically. “He just needs to just relax and go play.”

From a team performance perspective, the Lakers are 3-10 despite Westbrook’s consistent run after he started coming off the bench. The Warriors have seen some struggles with a 6-9 run and placed 12th in the West. LA is a couple of rungs lower in 14th place.

The Lakers have a relatively easy game coming up against the Detroit Pistons, while the Warriors face the New York Knicks next.
