Steph Curry’s Former Teammate, Andrew Bogut, Reveals That Steph Checks His Twitter Mentions During Halftime When He Has A Bad Half

2 Min Read

For a guy like Steph Curry, social media can be a pretty wild place. On one hand, he’s got a whole group of people praising and following him on Twitter. On the other hand, anytime he struggles or draws comparisons to other All-Time greats, there are people who criticize him.

And while looking at hate, doubt, and criticism can be pretty tough for anyone, Curry has a special way to deal with it: by using it as fuel for torching his opponents on the court.

According to his ex-teammate Andrew Bogut, the Golden State star checks the Twitter timeline at halftime when he has a bad half, seemingly to motivate himself to do better and carry his team to victory in the second.

“He’ll check his mentions at halftime, when he has a bad half. It’s the craziest sh-t I ever saw,” Bogut said on an episode of his podcast, Rogue Bogues. “Yeah, Steph, if he had a bad half, he would go on social media and then come out and drop 30 [in the second half].”

Overcoming poor halftime performances have become commonplace for Curry. Time and time again, he has followed up disappointing performances in the first two quarters with an explosive scoring display in the third and fourth.

Regardless of the how, Curry has been really impressive this year. With season averages of 28.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6 assists per game on 45.8% shooting, he has emerged as an early MVP candidate.

We’ll have to see if he alone will be enough to get the Warriors to the playoffs, though.
