After dominating the NBA for half a decade, the Golden State Warriors derailed for the last two seasons. A lot of roster changes and injuries played a crucial role in the downfall of the Dubs.

But in the 2021-22 NBA season, the Warriors are back in form. It is evident from their regular-season record as they finished as the third seed in the West with a record of 53-29.

A new era has begun for the franchise and with that being said, the media has already recognized a “death lineup” for the team. It featured Stephen Curry, Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Draymond Green. While this death lineup looks very scary on paper, recently this lineup has struggled to produce the desired results.

As a result, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was asked about his thoughts on the recent struggles of his best five-man lineup. Well, Kerr did respond to that question, but not in a manner that fans would have expected him to say.

John Dickinson of 95.7 The Game revealed Kerr’s answer in his recent tweet. Here is what the tweet said:

“Steve Kerr again (half jokingly, I think) goes in on media when asked about recent struggles of Curry, Poole, Thompson, Wiggins, Green lineup.

‘You guys are the ones who were trying to figure out the nickname for a group that had played 11 minutes together.'”

Kerr seems to be on a streak of berating the media in recent days. He also threw shade at Dillon Brooks while explaining the Warriors’ mantra.

Either way, it’s not that Kerr was wrong, as the media was too quick to search for new nicknames for a lineup that didn’t play together for a long time. Regardless of that, fans will certainly hope this lineup finds some form soon as the Warriors are currently playing against the Grizzlies in Round 2 of the 2022 postseason.
