The Chicago Bulls Get Roasted After Giving Up 150 Points To The Minnesota Timberwolves: “They Need A Full Rebuild…”

Fans were stunned to watch the Chicago Bulls concede 150 points in 48 minutes to allow the Timberwolves to hit a new franchise record.

The Chicago Bulls had their worst night of the season by far in a contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves that saw the Bulls lose the game 126-150. The game helped the Wolves set a new franchise record for points, all without their star centers Karl Anthony-Towns and Rudy Gobert.

Anthony Edwards led from the front and absolutely tore apart the Bulls’ defense, scoring 37 points and dishing out 11 assists in the game. D’Angelo Russell had an incredibly solid game, as the Bulls just had no answer for anyone. They had a good offensive night, but this shambolic defense has made fans call for the Bulls to start rebuilding ASAP.

Bulls gave up 150 points to the Wolves tonight—the most regulation points given up by the Bulls in 40 years & 4th most in franchise history. CHI is now 22nd in offense, 18th in defense, 24th in net rating, and 2-7 in their last 9…

Bulls might not even need to blow it up to get a bottom 4 record

No Towns, Gobert, Prince or McLaughlin and the Wolves still hang 150 on the Bulls.

Bulls need to just do a full rebuild, Zach knees ain’t getting no better, Derozan and Vuc ain’t getting no younger. Trade em all for picks and young player, let see what Pat will can do and develop into

This week, the Chicago Bulls had a chance to start to right the ship. They've only sunk deeper.

This season is practically over. Whether it's a sell-off of a roster shake-up, all I'm really looking forward to right now is the trade deadline.

— Elias Schuster (@Schuster_Elias) December 19, 2022

Crank up the trade machine. Hard to see the Bulls not blowing this up before the deadline. What a mess. Letting the beaten up Wolves shoot 70% through 3 quarters.

The Bulls just can’t keep up with the pace of team-building in the NBA. They looked great last season before injuries doomed them to failure. The Nikola Vucevic trade from early 2021 has hamstrung the team’s assets and is casting a massive shadow over this season, as Vuc is a free agent and the Bulls pick this year goes to the Orlando Magic unless it’s a top-4 pick.

Should The Bulls Start Rebuilding?

Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Alex Caruso, Patrick Williams, and many others could be great positive assets for the Bulls should they trade them away. LaVine has been heavily linked to the Dallas Mavericks, with Vuc and DeRozan linked to the Lakers. The team has considered blowing it up as there is just no winning path with the current roster.

There is no point in stubbornly playing this season with this core just to make a play-in spot. The Bulls are better off getting future draft assets for their current players and rolling the dice with the lottery than getting a low lottery pick or sneaking into the play-in and losing there or in the first round.

The players will lose value if they wait till next season, so Chicago might be the first team to blow it up mid-season for Victor Wembanyama.
