8x All-Star Anthony Davis could be on the move again, according to ESPN Insider Brian Windhorst.

In a new report provided by the well-connected journalist, he expects the Lakers to have some discussions about trading the 9-year NBA veteran.

The Los Angeles Lakers will keep their options open to improve the roster in the offseason, which includes potentially trading Anthony Davis, as ESPN’s Brian Windhorst predicted Tuesday on Get Up: “I think it will be something that’s discussed,” Windhorst said of a Davis trade.

Anthony Davis has long been considered a core member of the Lakers. As a young and powerful All-Star big man, he is considered a crucial part of their present and future.

As for LeBron James, Windhorst insisted he still wants to be a Laker.

LeBron James has one year left on his contract with the Lakers but is eligible for an extension in August. Windhorst indicated the superstar will make his decision based on the team’s moves in the offseason but also noted James enjoys his current spot.

“LeBron loves living in L.A., loves raising his kids there, loves sending them to Sierra Canyon,” Windhorst said. “I don’t think he wants to move.”

The Lakers are just two years removed from their 2020 Championship run. At the time, the idea of a Davis trade bordered on blasphemy.

Now, with Davis having missed the whole season, and the Lakers sitting at 10th in the West, it seems like a reasonable way to shake things up.

Davis, who turned 29 this month, has only played 73 games over the past two seasons. During that stretch, the Lakers have been among the worst teams in basketball while Davis (when he has played) has seen major dips in his numbers.

After this season, the star big man is still owed roughly $120 million over the next three years.
