NBA Rumors: Miami Heat “Showing Interest” In Signing Danilo Gallinari

2 Min Read

With NBA free agency just five days away, teams around the league are scrambling to plot their best path forward.

In Miami, the Heat remain optimistic about their chances in 2021, but it doesn’t mean they’re ready to stay silent and miss an opportunity to make their team better.

While we don’t yet know what their roster will look like next season, we do know a name they intend to add: OKC forward Danilo Gallinari.

Coming off an impressive season with the Thunder, Galo has a lot to offer Miami. He’s a 6-10 forward with talented shot-making abilities. Last season, he averaged 18.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game on 43% shooting.

Alongside Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler in the frontcourt, he’ll be able to stretch the floor and provide better shot opportunities for his teammates. He also brings size and 11 years of NBA experience.

The big question for the Heat is just how much they value the Italian sharpshooter. After a resurgence year, Gallinari will surely demand a sizeable contract, especially the summer after making $22 million. We’ll have to see how much Miami is willing to spend, and if it will be enough to lure him in.
