NBA Rumors: Phoenix Suns Can Land Chris Paul For 4 Players

Chris Paul has been linked with plenty of rumors in recent days, as the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard is set to leave the team this offseason via trade. The Thunder are focused on their rebuilding process and having CP3 along with his huge contract isn’t the best way to start over. That’s why some teams have placed their attention on the veteran point guard, including the Milwaukee Bucks.

Moreover, he has been linked with a move to Los Angeles to play either with the Lakers or Clippers. Nevertheless, we could see more teams trying to make a run for CP3 in the offseason. The Phoenix Suns were the only undefeated team in the Orlando bubble and the expectations are high for them this season. Devin Booker demonstrated he can take his team to win but they’re missing one piece to improve their level.

It was recently reported that the Suns and Thunder were discussing a trade involving CP3, despite his hefty contract (he’s set to make $85 million in the next two seasons). This trade would work for OKC since they’d get a couple of young players perfect for their plans.

How this would be made? The Suns would send Ricky Rubio, Kelly Oubre, Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson to Phoenix. Three young players and an experienced point guard in Ricky Rubio. The Thunder would get CP3 to make a Big 3 with Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton in Arizona. They have players that are still developing their game like Kelly Oubre, as well as the 10th overall pick this year. This move could also be helpful for them in the long term.

CP3 demonstrated he is a great mentor in OKC and landing in a young, hungry team would be great for them. He didn’t have a Devin Booker in OKC; imagine what they can do together in Phoenix. We’re not saying the Suns are going to be contenders with Paul, but they will have a bigger chance to make the postseason and compete against the bigger teams in the West.
