The Dallas Mavericks could make a beeline for Chicago Bulls superstar Zach LaVine given their desperate hunt for a second superstar alongside Luka Doncic.
LaVine has been linked to multiple franchises over the last couple of months despite signing a lucrative five-year, $215.16 million extension with the Bulls. However, recent reports coupled with his own issues in the locker room have made him one of the most speculated players to find a new home before the trade deadline.
Meanwhile, Dallas has been one of the sides whose load has been shouldered heavily by Doncic. The Slovenian has been the team’s driving force averaging 33.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 8.3 assists. He will greatly benefit from the offensive firepower LaVine brings to the court.

Speaking on The Lowe Post, analysts Zach Lowe and Tim MacMahon shed light on the Mavericks’ trade moves and believed that the Bulls’ star was a perfect fit at Dallas.
“Every year at the trade deadline, there is a name who either gets traded or there are more serious talks, and it comes out later that there were more serious talks and people say: ‘Woah! That was on the table?’ Or: ‘I can’t believe that happened, that came out of nowhere.’ And there are a few candidates for that this year based purely on common sense.”
LaVine was one of the names the analysts spoke of, and added Dorian Finney-Smith as one of the potential candidates who could be traded to the Bulls.
The Bulls Are Reportedly Reluctant To Trade Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, And Nikola Vucevic
The Chicago Bulls have been in the news with speculations and theories of a potential rebuild doing the rounds.
The easy way would be to do away with their famed ‘Big 3’ of LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic. It’s worth noting that all three players have also been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers. That said, there have been reports of the team not keen to trade any of their stars.
Per K. C. Johnson of NBC Sports, the team is not considering moving any of those three players.
Do you think the Bulls will trade one or more of DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine or Nikola Vucevic by the Feb. 9 trade deadline? — John C.
As of this typing, no. That’s certainly the current impression of the rival executives to whom I have spoken.
With a week left for the February 9 trade deadline, all eyes will be on the potential playoff teams and their focus on potential game-winners in the form of LaVine and DeRozan.
Only time will tell if there is a LaVine-Doncic team up on the cards. Should that blockbuster move come through, Dallas will undoubtedly elevate to being title contenders.
