NBA Rumors: A Kemba Walker – Kristaps Porzingis Swap Could Happen Next Season

1 Min Read

The Smoking Cuban

Kristaps Porzingis is a solid big man who didn’t have the best of playoff runs this season. He is still a capable player despite that: it isn’t often that you find a 7’3 player that can shoot the ball as Porzingis can, and there is some potential that he has a bounceback year next season.

It seems as though Kristaps Porzingis’ name has been featured in a lot of potential trades. Chris Mannix has floated out the idea of a Kristaps Porzingis swap for Kemba Walker, who recently got traded from the Boston Celtics to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Chris Mannix relayed the sentiment of an executive who stated that the trade “seems inevitable” next season.

It seems as though Kristaps Porzingis could potentially flourish with the Oklahoma City Thunder, as he would be able to get consistent touches which would help his development as a player. At the same time, the Dallas Mavericks sorely needed another offensive threat on the perimeter next to Luka Doncic in the first round, and Kemba Walker could provide that. This swap seems like it could be a win-win situation, but it remains to be seen whether it will actually happen.
