NBA Rumors: Golden State Warriors Want To Trade No. 2 Pick For A Superstar

2 Min Read

Steph Curry looked pretty excited when he heard the news that the Warriors would be landing the no.2 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

While this draft class is full of exciting young prospects, he’s probably more excited thinking about which superstar they’ll trade that pick for.

According to numerous reports, the Warriors intend on dealing that pick for a veteran star. Brad Botkin was the latest to confirm the reports in an article on CBS Sports.

“Now, what they do with that pick becomes the dilemma, and again it’s an enviable ‘problem’ to have: Keep it or trade it? Multiple league sources who spoke with CBS Sports believe the Warriors will turn over every stone in trying to cook up a trade for a player ready to help them compete for titles in the near term, as they rightfully believe they still have a championship core in place with Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green ready to come back healthy and motivated.”

Obviously, Golden State has a number of names they can target in the offseason, including Giannis, Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, and Kevin Love (to name a few).

With a core already in place, adding any of those players would make them contenders for years to come.

The Warriors are coming back with a vengeance next season.
