Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner is one of the most interesting players in the league ahead of the trade deadline. His rim protection is top-tier, and he is a capable shooter as well. This makes him a good fit on a lot of different teams, especially contenders.

A team that could potentially use Myles Turner’s defense and shooting are the Golden State Warriors. They are clearly in contention mode, and adding a veteran that would fit their system could be a good move. Here is a potential trade package.

Golden State Warriors Receive: Myles Turner

Indiana Pacers Receive: James Wiseman, Kevon Looney, Nemanja Bjelica, 2023 first-round pick

The Golden State Warriors Add A Top-Tier Defensive Center

The Golden State Warriors are a contender and are obviously a good team. However, even good teams have weaknesses. There’s no question that we have seen the Warriors struggle with versatile big men such as Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid: perhaps Myles Turner can provide them with some size for matchups like those.

Myles Turner is one of the league’s best defensive centers and rim protectors. Currently, Turner is leading the league with 2.8 BPG. He would immediately slot in as the starting center for the Warriors, and he’d fit right into their defense-first system.

Offensively, Myles Turner would surely get a lot of easy attempts at the rim due to the defensive attention that Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry command. He would also provide some shooting on the perimeter, and would clearly be a better offensive player than Kevon Looney.

Overall, Myles Turner would be a perfect fit on the Golden State Warriors. He fits the system, and won’t take away offensive touches from key scorers. If he is available, the Golden State Warriors should take a look at acquiring him.

The Indiana Pacers Get A Package Featuring A Young Player And Draft Asset

When a team plans to trade their veterans to start a rebuild like the Indiana Pacers, the two key things they would want is promising young players and draft compensation. This trade would give them both of those things.

James Wiseman was the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, and he showed some solid flashes during his first season with the Golden State Warriors. He has athleticism and shooting touch, and on the Indiana Pacers he’d get to polish those skills and get the touches he needs to become the star he has the potential to be. The 2023 first-round pick would probably be lower value, but the pick would likely be more of a sweetener for the Pacers.

Kevon Looney and Nemanja Bjelica would be the salary filler in this situation, but they are both solid enough veterans that could be traded for some return prior to the end of the trade deadline. Overall, getting a promising prospect and a pick is the key goal for the Pacers though, and perhaps we’ll see them move Myles Turner for a similar-level package in the future.
