Kyle Kuzma has reportedly been on the trade block for the Washington Wizards this season despite having a great year on the court. Kuzma is an impending free agent and isn’t looking to re-sign with the Wizards, so it’s natural for the team to try and move him on before they lose him for nothing.

A Phoenix Suns insider has revealed that the Suns have circled Kyle Kuzma as their primary trade target this season. With Jae Crowder still waiting to be moved, the outgoing player will most likely be him. However, the insider has also said that the deal may include the Atlanta Hawks who can move on from John Collins.

A likely trade will be quite complicated due to the differing contract sizes. Crowder going to Atlanta has been rumored before, so the Hawks get a 3-and-D role-player to further highlight Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. Collins’s long-term contract will ensure he’s with the Wizards beyond the season.

Does A 3-Team Trade Make Sense?

Kuzma on the Suns and Crowder on the Hawks is something that the teams could have a real interest in. The Wizards are forced to tread the middle due to the Bradley Beal contract extension, so Collins joining Kristaps Porzingis in the frontcourt might be a weapon that helps augment their team.

Collins is on a big contract for a largely underperforming player, so the Wizards will likely be compensated with a pick from the Suns since they clearly upgrade by acquiring Kuzma. Crowder will be a better fit on the Hawks given the role he plays and the structure of that team. The remaining players to make contracts match will be a challenge, but if this is the trade all 3 teams want, they’ll figure it out.
