NBA Trade Rumors: Pascal Siakam Could Land With Washington Wizards

Raptors Rapture

Is the Pascal Siakam era over in Toronto?

After the Raptors picked up Scottie Barnes last night, ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins joked that the veteran forward’s days in the city are numbered.

While Perk wasn’t speaking based on facts, it turns out he might actually be right.

According to NBA Insider Brett Siegel, a Siakam deal is possible, and one team, in particular, could be poised to get him: the Washington Wizards.

One source has mentioned the Washington Wizards as a potential destination for Pascal Siakam if the Toronto Raptors look to trade him after drafting Scottie Barnes last night. They have Kuzma, Hachimura, Harrell and Bryant all as possible assets to trade.

With Kyle Lowry’s future in a state of flux, the Raptors could be teetering on the edge of a complete rebuild.

Siakam, who turned 27 in April, doesn’t necessarily fit the timeline of a rebuilding team.

In D.C., though, he and Beal could make some waves out East. Siakam’s size and strength make a nice pairing next to Beal’s quickness and shooting ability. On paper, it might help them return to the playoff picture.

For the Raptors, they would have a ton of young talent to develop and build around, including No. 4 pick, Scottie Barnes, Kyle Kuzma, Rui Hachimura (who they would get in the Siakam trade), Gary Trent Jr., and OG Anunoby.

It’s certainly an interesting situation, but we don’t yet know what the Raptors plan to do this offseason.

Evidently, we’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves.
