The short-handed Pelicans were led by efficient 30-point outings from Zion Williamson (31 PTS, 8 REB, 12-19 FG) and Brandon Ingram (30 PTS, 12-17 FG), who had no support as all other Pelicans were held to under 10 points. The team was without summer acquisition Dejounte Murray and lost ace p[perimeter defender Herb Jones to a shoulder injury during this game.
The Pelicans are considered a Playoff-caliber team but the sudden injury misfortune caused them to stutter in this loss to the Warriors, who overcame even bigger rotational concerns with both Curry and Wiggins out of action.
