Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner hilariously trolled the New York Knicks after eliminating them in six games in the Eastern Conference Finals. Turner put out a post on Instagram that seemed quite wholesome at first, but he took shots at the Knicks in a couple of the slides. One of them featured a clip from “Family Guy.”

Carter Pewterschmidt: “In about an hour, I’m going to piss away 20 grand.”

Glenn Quagmire: “What, are you gonna bet on the Knicks?”

That was hilarious. Betting on the Knicks to beat Turner’s Pacers would have been a good way to lose your money. He did ruffle some feathers with the post, but the winner gets bragging rights after all.

The Knicks were favored coming into the series, but the Pacers managed to seize control right away. They stormed back from a 14-point deficit with less than three minutes remaining in regulation in Game 1 to steal a win in overtime in New York. Another victory followed in Game 2, which put them in the driver’s seat.

The Knicks then managed to win two of the next three games, but that was that. The Pacers won Game 6 125-108 to advance to the NBA Finals for the first time in 25 years.

Turner averaged 13.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.5 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game against the Knicks. He came up big in Game 2, where he had 13 points in the fourth quarter to help the Pacers get over the line.

Getting back to that Instagram post, you can check out the whole thing below. You’ll see a couple of the other shots that he fired at the Knicks.

The Pacers and Knicks have faced off in back-to-back postseasons, and that 1990s rivalry is now being reignited.

Myles Turner Reflected On His Pacers Career

The Pacers selected Turner with the 11th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, and getting to the Finals would have meant more to him than anyone else on the team. In the ceremony after Game 6, he reflected on his journey.

“It’s been a long time coming, man, come on,” Turner said. “First of all, I go to give a huge shout-out to the Simons. Never stopped believing in me. This front office, this organization, is amazing. I’ve spent a third of my life here, it’s crazy.

“I’ve really grown up here with y’all, and it’s so validating just to get this in this fashion against one of our rivals 25 years later,” Turner continued. “I’m just excited for what’s next. We got four more.”

Turner seemingly has found his name in trade rumors for his entire career, but the Pacers decided to hold on to him. The 29-year-old has repaid their faith, and he’ll be hoping to impress in the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Finals could end up being his last series with the Pacers, though.

Turner will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason and reportedly wants a deal worth more than $30 million a year. Will the Pacers give him that deal, considering that would mean they’d have to pay luxury tax? Well, history would say they won’t.

The Pacers haven’t paid luxury tax since 2005, but it appears the top brass is now open to it. NBA insider Brian Windhorst reported that ownership has indicated a willingness to increase spending next season to keep this core. The Pacers are hoping to keep Turner without sacrificing their depth, and it will be interesting to see if they succeed in that quest.
