New York Knicks Remember Viral Kid Cody After Clinching First Playoffs Appearance In 8 Years

2 Min Read

The New York Knicks have finally clinched their long-awaited playoffs berth after eight years of absence. The New Yorkers turned things around this season, coached by Tom Thibodeau and led by a young star like Julius Randle and a proven veteran like Derrick Rose.

The young team has done an excellent job this campaign, and these are the fruits of hard work and the desire to do things the right way. Finally, after an 8-year absence, they are back in the postseason. Their Twitter account found a perfect way to celebrate this feat.

Back in 2014, a little kid called Cody said his Christmas wish was watching the Knicks in the playoffs. It took a lot but they did it, never forgetting that Cody wanted to see them at the big party.

This is even sweeter knowing that they land in this stage not as a team that will be eliminated in the first round. The Knicks are a serious threat to almost every other team in the postseason. NBA fans reacted to this news in a great way, pulling their best memes on social media.

Thibodeau has done a great job with his players, giving them an identity and making them better. Now the Knickerbockers are seeing as a dark horse to come out of the East.

Of course, that won’t be easy knowing that the Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, and Milwaukee Bucks are considered the favorites to win the East this campaign. Still, nobody should sleep on the New Yorkers.

It’s good to have them back, competing for important things. As LeBron James said, when the Knicks win, the league wins. This one’s for you, Cody. Merry Christmas!
