Luka Doncic’s constant complaints during the 2024 NBA Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and the Boston Celtics have been a hot topic of conversation, and an NBA fan on X has now hilariously trolled him for it. The fan posted a picture of Doncic complaining to an official and claimed that’s what his statue in Dallas will look like.

The post went viral on X and NBA fans reacted to it.

One ruthlessly stated that Doncic wasn’t whining enough in this picture.

He’s not whining quite enough in that one.

A fan said Doncic will never become a champion if he doesn’t cut down on all the whining.

One stated that Doncic and LeBron James are the biggest crybabies in the NBA.

He's the biggest cry baby in basketball next to LeBron

A fan called Doncic the biggest whiner he had ever seen in sports.

Doncic has certainly painted a target on his back with the constant complaining. Every player in the NBA complains to the officials, but I don’t think anyone does it to the extent that the Slovenian does. He was especially bad in that regard in Game 3 of the Finals and that didn’t go down well with many in the basketball world.

Brian Windhorst went off on Doncic in an explosive rant and said he would never win a title if he didn’t improve on his bad habits. I also think the 25-year-old needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.

Doncic has to keep his negative emotions in check during games. The five-time All-Star is at his devastating best when he is just focusing on basketball and playing with a smile on his face. We saw that version of him in the lead-up to the Finals, but haven’t seen it on the big stage itself.

In Game 3, Doncic had 27 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal. Those are good numbers, but he seemed to lose his head at one point due to the officiating and started to play far too recklessly.

It led to Doncic fouling out for the first time ever in the playoffs and that hurt the Mavericks in a big way, as they went on to lose 106-99 to fall down 3-0. If he had just kept his cool, there is a very good chance that this series would currently be 2-1.

The Mavericks had gone on an impressive 20-2 run to cut the Celtics’ lead down to 93-90 but all that momentum was lost after Doncic fouled out. What was also lost for the Mavs with that was these Finals.

Luka Doncic Admitted He Let His Teammates Down By Fouling Out

After Game 3, Doncic went off at the officials for fouling him out and stated they had to be better than that. Once he had some time to cool down he changed his tune somewhat. Doncic admitted he let his teammates down in their Game 3 loss to the Celtics.

“It was tough. Probably wasn’t the smartest thing. But it was a physical game and to get six fouls, I didn’t expect it,” said Doncic. “It’s tough. I always say it’s easier to be in the game than being on the bench. I was more nervous on the bench. It wasn’t the smartest thing to do… this is the Finals. I told my teammates, ‘My bad, you can’t do that — especially in the NBA Finals.’”

Maybe this game might end up being the wake-up call that Doncic needs to get his act together. Had he just kept his cool, he wouldn’t have basically lost any chance he had to win the 2024 NBA championship.
