Paul George and Gordon Hayward have lasted the longest from the 2010 NBA Draft.

There is often a shift in eras that goes unnoticed, until one season, all of the players from one’s childhood are either out of the league or are shells of their former selves. It seems as though that moment might be rapidly approaching.

A recent Tweet from Bleacher Report revealed that Paul George and Gordon Hayward are the only players left in the league from the 2010 NBA Draft class. The draft class notably featured All-Star players such as John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins, so this is relatively surprising.

Only TWO players drafted in 2010 are still on an NBA roster 😳

It makes sense that Paul George and Gordon Hayward were the players who ended up lasting the longest from their draft class. When one looks at their skill set, they are wings who can pass, handle and shoot, which means that their longevity will be better due to them not completely relying on their athleticism to make an impact on the game. Hopefully, we see them have a few more good years in the league, and it is quite possible that they will continue being high-level role-players late into their 30s.

The Clippers Still Believe They Can Win A Championship With The Paul George-Kawhi Leonard Core

Even though Paul George and his co-star Kawhi Leonard are aging, they are still playing at a high level. In fact, the Los Angeles Clippers still believe they have some years to win championships with the two.

“Leonard, 31, and George, 32, are still in the prime years of their NBA careers and are enamored with their talent as two-way players. Though the Clippers had championship aspirations immediately after acquiring them, they still believe they have years left on their championship window,” wrote Sportsnaut’s Mark Medina. “They view George’s latest injury as uncontrollable since it stemmed from Oklahoma City forward Lu Dort colliding into him in a regular-season game on March 21. Although they don’t believe Kawhi’s latest injury is related to his ACL injury, they are mindful that players often experience hiccups during their first full season following ACL surgery.”

It remains to be seen if the Los Angeles Clippers will win a championship with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George as their stars. As of right now, it seems unlikely, but we’ll see what happens in the future.
