Forward Miles Bridges was once considered one of the best up-and-coming young wing players in the NBA. He was highly touted due to his athleticism and slashing ability, and there’s no doubt that he has high potential.
Despite his ability on the court, many view Miles Bridges in a negative light due to his off-court issues. He pleaded no contest to a felony domestic violence charge in 2022 but has since been re-signed by the Charlotte Hornets. Recently, he made a statement following the Hornets re-signing him, apologizing for his past actions.
“I just want to apologize to everybody for the pain and embarrassment that I caused everyone, but especially my family. This year away, I’ve used it to prioritize just going to therapy and becoming the best person I can be — someone that my family and everybody here can be proud of.”

It seems as though Miles Bridges has taken steps to try and become a better person. Still, there is a lot of work ahead for him, and he has to prove that he can avoid getting into trouble off the court this season.
In the 2021-22 regular season, Miles Bridges averaged 20.2 PPG, 7.0 RPG, and 3.8 APG for the Charlotte Hornets. He is a solid player who can contribute to the Hornets this season, and we’ll see how he does.
Miles Bridges Signed A $7.9 Million Qualifying Offer From The Hornets
In free agency, Miles Bridges and the Charlotte Hornets were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension. That led to Bridges betting on himself, and signing a $7.9 million qualifying offer with the team.
“Just In: RFA Miles Bridges and CEO of Klutch Sports Rich Paul have signed a one-year, $7.9 qualifying offer with the Hornets, sources tell The Athletic and Stadium. Bridges — who was in line for a massive deal in 2022 — now becomes a top unrestricted free agent next summer.”
“Hornets and Bridges were far apart on a deal, with the final offer given on Sunday, sources said. Charlotte now loses restricted rights to Bridges, who also has the ability to veto any trade during the 2023-24 season.”
Signing the qualifying offer will ensure that Bridges is a free agent in 2024, and he could potentially get a lucrative multi-year deal, whether it is from the Hornets or otherwise. We will see whether the gamble pays off for him in the future.
