Paul George On Last Season Disappointment: “I Buried Last Year And Left Last Year In The Bubble.”

2 Min Read

Paul George didn’t have the best 2019/20 season with the Los Angeles Clippers, failing to help his team reach important stages in the 2020 NBA playoffs and starring in one of the biggest fiascos the league has seen in recent years.

George earned a lot of names and jokes, including “Pandemic P”, a mockery of his “Playoff P” nickname. He was just not good for the Clips and it showed. This season, though, Paul is ready to show something different and return to his best form, that one that took the Indiana Pacers to compete in the Eastern Conference against the Big 3 Miami Heat at the start of the 2010s.

PG13 has been good in the first two games for the Clippers, scoring 33 and 23 points, respectively, against two big rivals like the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets. George isn’t thinking about how bad last season was for him, explaining he’s focused on the job this campaign and doesn’t even think about what happened in the past.

“I kind of buried last year and left last year in the bubble,” George said. “Fact is, this is a new season, new team, new goals.”

After all the criticism he received at the end of the last season, George must be keen to prove his doubters wrong and bring a title to Los Angeles with the Clippers. The veteran swingman has a lot of talent and he can be a terrific player for his team. The Clippers hope to have him with this rhythm for the whole season but only time will tell what version of PG we will see come playoff.
