  • Paul George seemingly called out Devin Booker with his latest comments
  • The forward didn’t like the “unnecessary talk” and people “directing comments” at him
  • George and Booker threw jabs at one another on social media previously

Forward Paul George is one of the best two-way players in the NBA, and the Los Angeles Clippers clearly view him as a franchise cornerstone. Though we usually hear about George due to his exploits on the court, recently, George made headlines due to some off-court conflict.

There is no doubt that Paul George and Devin Booker have taken jabs at one another in the past. For example, Booker thought that George was baiting shooting guard Klay Thompson on his podcast for a negative soundbite about himself, and George subsequently called out Devin Booker’s comment on a Twitch live stream, calling it a “sorry-a**” response. The most recent update on this situation came in Paul George’s recent interview with SLAM, where the forward referenced “unnecessary talk” and people who haven’t won anything “directing comments” at him.

Yeah, I mean, it was just a lot of unnecessary talk going around the League of, you know, guys feeling themselves and directing comments toward me that haven’t done anything as well. You know, this is the last couple years of my career, so it’s all about legacy for me as well. And that’s just my approach—I got to finish strong and go back to loving the game and loving to dominate. And again, that’s just how I got to approach it. [If] I come up short, that’s on me. But that’s how I gotta approach it.”

There has been no confirmation from Paul George about whether this comment was truly directed at Devin Booker. However, George has had no notable issues with other players as of late, and Booker seems to fit the bill when it comes to players who have made disparaging remarks at George.

This past season, Paul George averaged 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, while shooting 37.1% from 3PT range. The key for George is dominating on offense consistently, and we’ll see if his production ends up improving next season.

Paul George Is Ready For The 2023-24 NBA Season

It is quite likely that Paul George is motivated after a failed season by the Los Angeles Clippers. In fact, George sent a warning after a failed season with the Los Angeles Clippers, claiming that he will be on his “bully s**t” during this upcoming season.

It is good to see that Paul George has an aggressive mindset going into next season. The Clippers need him to be at his best if they are to win a championship, and it seems as though Paul George is ready to dominate with the team next season.

Paul George Is Expected To Be At 100% Heading Into Training Camp

Paul George missed the 2023 playoffs for the Los Angeles Clippers, as he was dealing with a knee injury at the time. That led to the Clippers being eliminated in the first round, which is obviously a negative outcome. However, the good news for this season is that George is expected to be at 100% before training camp, with his teammate Kawhi Leonard being in a similar situation.

It remains to be seen how well the Los Angeles Clippers do next season. They are definitely among the best teams in the league talent-wise, but the key with them has consistently been health.
