Carmelo Anthony belongs on the list of the greatest offensive players in the history of the NBA.

Melo may currently be out of the league, but that doesn’t take away what he has achieved during his phenomenal career from him. According to Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce, Anthony was the toughest player he ever guarded. Even more challenging than LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.

“My underrated, somebody who I matched up with. To me, Melo, dog,” Pierce said. “I’d rather guard LeBron, Kobe, T-Mac before Melo. He used to hurt my chest. He’s a bulldog. He’s going to be physical. He’s going to post you up, hit you with a shoulder in the chest. You’re going to be hurting after the game. He’s going to make you feel this 30. Other cats, they’re going to finesse to 30. No, you’re gonna be hurting.”

Pierce named Melo as the most underrated player who he faced off with during his career. In addition, the Celtics legend was also asked about his thoughts on the most overrated player.

“Overrated that I played against. I’m gonna say Richard Jefferson.”

Carmelo Anthony has always been criticized by the media for his failure to win an NBA Championship in his career.

Apart from that, Melo has had an impressive career in the league, and it sometimes gets overshadowed. During his 19-year-long stint in the NBA, Carmelo averaged 22.5 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 2.7 APG.

Paul Pierce And Richard Jefferson Have Beef

Since his firing from ESPN, Paul Pierce has made several appearances on Kevin Garnett’s podcast.

During an episode of it, Pierce trolled Jefferson. The Celtics legend claimed playing against RJ meant getting a free pass to score 40 points in a game. In his response, Jefferson roasted Pierce in a savage manner.

“Paul Pierce was one of the best players of our generation, 100% better than me. Comparing me to him is like comparing him to D-Wade, it’s a different stratosphere. We don’t even do that. But let’s address what he said. Bro, we beat you 10 out of 11 times.”

Jefferson didn’t hold back when clapping back at the former NBA superstar. Fans can expect another fiery comeback from RJ after Pierce’s recent comments.
